Stokes

Build Things

Stokes specializes in adapting traditional woodworking to digital fabrication processes- mainly CNC machining - and using that for the manufacturing of wood parts or complete products.  We also provide the individual services of CNC and laser cutting.

Originally founded by owner Bryce Williamson in 2013 in Queens, New York, we are now located in small town of Roxboro, NC in the beautiful North Carolina Piedmont. Our close proximity to the rich furniture manufacturing tradition of the region allows us to work with many specialized vendors.

Our workshop is an 100 yr old former cotton mill that we purchased in 2021, after it had been vacant for decades. We renovated the building - our team doing much of the work - and are happy to now be building things again in this building built for making things.

We are focused on combining digital and traditional fabrication techniques for the design, prototyping, and manufacturing of furniture and other products.

Our goal is to help our clients find a way to bring their projects to fruition through smart design and skilled fabrication. Since our business is based on making stuff out of wood, we feel a strong responsibility to follow sustainable practices and contribute to the conservation of forestry resources. We are committed to using wood wisely.
